Sittway Local villagers reported that one of the Karen fighters, who worn Myanmar army uniform of LID 11,  was captured by Arakan Army during the fight near Yawtayoke village, Pannaygun township, on May 30. The captive Karen fighter after interrogated by AA members found out he was a member of Myawaddy based BGF, splinter group of Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA).   News of Snr Gen Min Aung Hlaing’s request of 1,000 fighters from BGF has been circulated on local and social media since May. July 7, 2019  Rakhine war is getting wild and shifting to harassments.  Internet blackout is still persisting in northern parts of Rakhine state where Myanmar army and Arakan Army have been fighting against each other since January.  Government spokesperson Zaw Htay said during the recent press conference in Naypyitaw there is no timeframe to left the internet ban.  While the region is blackout, Myanmar army arrested Arakan Army Spokesperson Khine Thu Kha’s bother-in-law and two other villagers at Htat Taung village in Ann township yesterday.  The spokesperson’s brother-in-law U Maung Pru Than and two other villagers of U San Aung Kyi and U Raybo Thu are detained at Ann Police Station.  Ann is Myanmar army control and command center and resident of the reginal commander.  “They were tak...

Army officers, police, and immigration officers inside the temple where 3,000 IDPs inside  3,000 Refugees Rounded up by 700 Myanmar Soldiers in Rakhine, Myanmar June 11, 2019 Myanmar army LID 11 and 22 with 700 soldiers have been rounding up 3,000 IDPs inside the Buddhist temple in Puaktaw Pyin village, Pannaygun township, since June 10, 2019. Three hundred soldiers are taking positions on the front gate and around the village while other 400 troops are in the mountains and forests behind the temple. The thousand refugees from several villages have been taking shelter in the temple since last week after clashes were broken out between Myanmar army and Arakan Army. Some shells and gunfire landed inside the villages. On June 10, thirty soldiers and four police approached the gate of the temple and attempted to enter inside where 3,000 refugees are inside.
